Steeped in a rich Māori and European history, and just a 20 minute drive from the Bay of Islands airport, Te Kona – Digital, Business and Learning Hub is close to all of Northlands main centres and a stone’s throw from all of the action and adventure the winterless north offers.

Te Kona is a newly opened digital, business and events hub that is home to a new generation of work in Kaikohe offering a number of  private meeting rooms, and co-working and other multi-functional spaces alongside a growing calendar of events and learning programmes.

We also feature a specific Regional Digital Hub that is designed to provide opportunities to improve digital capability and business productivity for local Kaikohe business and the wider community.

About Te Kona – Digital, Business and Learning Hub

An initiative of and managed by Te Kotahitanga e Mahi Kaha Trust (TKEMKT), Te Kona Digital, Business and Learning hub is high tech, designed to provide opportunities to improve digital capability and business productivity for local Kaikohe businesses and the wider community.

The hub has been gifted the name Te Kona, who was the mother of renowned Ngāpuhi leader Hone Heke. We acknowledge the safe haven created by Te Kona to lead, sustain and protect her people and aim to embody these attributes by delivering on opportunities for our community to learn, be empowered, and grow.

While Te Kona is not a social enterprise, we are a not for profit and look for opportunities to maximise social impact for our community wherever possible. To support this kaupapa, we keep our pricing low and offer a number of free events to keep Te Kona widely accessible. When you choose Te Kona for your next hui you can feel awesome that your usage is giving directly back to the community.
